Melibe species have to be among the hardest and most frustrating nudibranchs to photograph, and sometimes to identify. The irregular shape, softly prickly surface and cryptic coloration make the animals below very difficult to distinguish in their normal muck site habitat. This translucent yellowish species has dorsolateral processes that extend out in several points at their tips. It looks as though it could be the one Gosliner et al (2018) figure as Melibe sp. 1, although theirs tended to be a brighter yellow. It is very possible that there are multiple species figured on this page.
