Having looked at a lot of Hypselodoris maculosa from different parts of the Pacific, I cannot help but think there are multiple species hiding behind that one name. For example, I think that this one is distinct from one I'm tentatively calling Hypselodoris maculosa and from another Hypselodoris cf maculosa from this area. Of course, it could just be an extremely variable species, but I think further study needs to be done. 10-15mm.
