Goniobranchus preciosus (Kelaart, 1858)
20mm

This species differs from similar ones because of its distinctly three-colored margin: bluish-white at the very edge, followed by a wider dark reddish brown and finally orange. Sometimes the outer marginal line is so thin the species is hard to distinguish from Goniobranchus verrieri. The dorsum varies in color from white to slightly reddish. These were relatively common at Mato Point in May 2016, but we have also seen specimens at Basura, Secret Garden, Basura and Anilao Pier. Whether all these distinct color forms are in fact the same species requires further study using molecular data.

Some have a distinctly spotted dorsum.

In some individuals outer bluish white margin expands, breaking up the inner red margin into a series of spots.
