Melibe coralophilia Gosliner & Pola, 2012
80mm

Dive guide Peri told us about a large species of Melibe that always lives down within the branches of living Porites coral (possibly Porites cylindrica). He then promptly proceeded to find a cluster of at least six specimens that were easily visible between the branches of a colony at about 8m depth at Kitchen Rock. One was coaxed out for these photos, then allowed to crawl back into the relative safety of the coral colony.

In their usual position down between the branches of this Porites coral.

We saw many more specimens on several trips to the dive site called Ladder.
