Verconia
sp. e770
8mm
This
small species is known from two specimens found on Kwajalein
Atoll's seaward in February 2016, in the midst of an El Niño that was
accompanied by persistent west winds the previous summer and fall, which possibly
brought the larvae in from farther west. The larger one measured less than 8mm.
This is figured in Gosliner
et al (2018) as Verconia sp. 8.
When found, the larger one was
accompanied by a tiny chromodorid, and after close examination (particularly
the reddish tint along the anterior margin) we concluded it to be a tiny juvenile
less than 1mm long.
