The Chromodorididae is a large family of nudibranchs that contains many colorful species in several genera. Many are known to be distasteful to predators or even poisonous to eat, which allows some to wander about in the open during the day. In the Marshalls, most species are small and live hidden away under rocks or in ledges and caves. As far as we know, all species eat sponges, and some seem highly specific in their food choices, eating only a single kind of sponge.
