This unidentified Gymnodoris is known from only two specimens collected on Kwajalein Atoll's seaward reef. Although similar in appearance to G. citrina and G. bicolor, it lacks the pointed pustules around the anterior margin and its radular teeth are different. Kay & Young (1969) report G. bicolor innermost teeth to be larger than the remaining teeth, and the innermost teeth of G. citrina are reported by Young (1967) to be proportionally even larger. Gymnodoris sp. e230, by contrast, has innermost teeth that are between half and two-thirds the length of the longest, midlateral teeth.
