Phyllidia ocellata Cuvier, 1804
40mm

Phyllidia ocellata is known in the Marshalls from only three specimens found at Kwajalein Atoll. All were relatively deep, more than 60 meters, on the seaward reef, where they were found exposed on the hard reef substrate. Our three specimens here all looked about the same, but in other areas it is normally a variable species. Our specimens do not exactly match any of those we have found at Pohnpei, the Solomons , Bali, Sulawesi or the Philippines.
