Plocamopherus maculatus (Pease, 1860)

One specimen was found at Bonegi, Guadalcanal, on a day dive on 26 August 1987. We have also found them in Hawaii and in the Marshall Islands, where they are found almost exclusively at night. They have several spots on their bodies that phosphoresce when disturbed.
