Platydoris formosa (Alder & Hancock, 1864)

At least four specimens of Platydoris formosa were found. The first was on a day dive at Tanaghai, Guadalcanal (the bottom photograph) on 6 April 1994. Then we found a pair at Pt. Cruz, Honaira, Guadalcanal, the following night. The last also on a night dive, this time near Ruaniu, Guadalcanal, on 9 April 1994 (the first two photos below). We have also seen this species in Hawaii and in the Marshall Islands.
