Pseudovertagus
nobilis (Reeve, 1855)
110.1mm
The longest of the
cerithiids at Kwajalein, Pseudovertagus nobilis is one we have not
seen alive. Several empty or hermit crab occupied shells have been found, all
of them on tops or on the slopes of lagoon pinnacles. We assume they must live
in lagoon bottom sand at the bases of the pinnacles.
