These small clams are found, usually in small groups, under rocks where they can use their long foot to crawl or pull themselves around. We have several different species of these crawling clams, and have seen various forms identified in books or on the web as species of several genera, including Scintilla, Nesobornia and others. Uncertain how to distinguish them, we are tentatively calling all our unknowns species of Scintilla until they can be more precisely identified. This species, which appears to come in both white and yellow forms, can be found under rocks on lagoon, pinnacle or seaward reefs.
