Vexillum granosum (Gmelin, 1791)
33.9mm
Vexillum granosum is common at Kwajalein,
found primarily in sand on lagoon reefs and pinnacles at depths of 6 to about
23m. Recent work synonymizes this species with Vexillum
sanguisuga. Although the only shell character that seem to separate
the two species are the red bands around the latter, we are keeping them separate
for now.
