Epitonium pyramidale (Sowerby, 1844)

A couple of these rather large Epitonium pyramidale have been found buried in sand at the bases of the stinging fire anemones, Actinodendron arboreum, in lagoon sandy areas.

Actinodendron arboreum, the host anemone for Epitonium pyramidale. The nematocysts of this anemone have a powerful sting.
