Strigatella luctuosa
(A. Adams, 1853)
22.0mm
Strigatella
luctuosa is moderately
rare at Kwajalein, with occasional specimens seen on lagoon reefs, pinnacles
and seaward reefs, under rocks at depths of about 3 to 20m. Some experts
on the Mitridae consider these to be Strigatella nigricans, but
currently the World
Register of Marine Species lists S. nigricans as a synonym of S.
luctuosa, so we will follow that for the present. More work is needed.
