Anguipecten
cf superbus (Sowerby, 1842)
[2]
24.3mm
This
single empty specimen is probably a form of Anguipecten superbus. The
dark color on the base of the shell, however, did not match any other specimen
we have seen, even those the same size as this one. It seems best to treat it
separately for now. The shell was found at a depth of about 45m on the seaward
reef.
