Mirapecten rastellum (Lamarck, 1819)

Mirapecten rastellum is moderately common on lagoon, pinnacle and seaward reefs, usually under rocks or in lagoon Halimeda patches. Shells are highly variable in color but usually partially or fully encrusted with sponges. Even the animals seem to vary in color.
