Terebra
elliscrossi (Bratcher, 1979)
77.2mm
Terebra
elliscrossi is known at Kwajalein from just a couple of specimens
found in sand at depths of 50 to 60m on the seaward reef.
There is some question whether this is really T. elliscrossi or a related
species that is as yet undescribed.
We do not have a photo of the living
specimen from Kwajalein. The photo below appears to be the same species from
a 65m dive at a site called the Ammo Dump in the Russell Islands, Solomon Islands.
It is a gradual sandy slope with outcrops of live artillery shells dumped after
World War II.
