Turritella sp. 5
15.9mm

This is the most common of the turritellids at Kwajalein, found under rocks on lagoon, pinnacle and seaward reefs deeper than about 1m, and are also in sediment samples from about 65m on the seaward reef. The thin, partially translucent shells range from white to magenta and purple. Living animals are rarely seen, and the only shots we have of the animal itself are the three immediately below taken off Kwajalein by Christina Sylvester.
