There is not quite enough of this animal visible to properly compare it with the others we have seen. It spotting kind of resembles the black form of Antennarius pictus, but what we can see of the second spine looks a bit more like an Antennatus or Nudiantennarius. It could be one of the many color variations of Nudiantennatius subteres. This 15mm individual was found on a Kwajalein Atoll lagoon reef at a depth of about 8m.
