Rabaulichthys cf altipinnis Allen, 1984

This is certainly a species of Rabaulichthys, but the species name is just a guess. These fish form isolated schools in lagoon slope Halimeda patches. They are highly active and move quickly, making it difficult to get a clear photo.

Below, a group of individuals hide beneath the crisscrossing spines of a cluster of large sea urchins.
