Meiacanthus atrodorsalis (Günther, 1877)
Yellowtail Fangblenny, 11.0cm

These sabretooth blennies have a pair of long, recurved teeth on the lower jaw associated with a venom gland. They apparently use the teeth and venom for defense, since they tend to eat plankton and benthic invertebrates. These are very similar in color to Plagiotremus laudandus; I key in on the black streak usually extending backward and upward from the eye of Meiacanthus atrodorsalis to distinguish them.
