Chironephthya sp. 3

This reddish brown medium sized fan appears to be Chironephthya. It is relatively common on the slopes of seaward reefs and lagoon pinnacles. It is the host for the ovulid shell Archivolva clava. It is possible that some of the photos below represent different species.

In a small cave with Acanthogorgia, Annella mollis, Dendronephthya and Stylaster.
