Siphonogorgia sp. 1

This reddish brown medium sized fan appears to be a species of Siphonogorgia. It is relatively common on the slopes of seaward reefs and lagoon pinnacles. It is the host for the ovulid shell Archivolva clava. It is possible that some of the photos below represent other species.

In a small cave with Acanthogorgia, Annella mollis, Dendronephthya and Stylaster.

The fan on the left may be this species.
