Chromis viridis (Cuvier, 1830)
Blue-green chromis, 10cm

It is possible that some of these could be Chromis atripectoralis, which has a dark pectoral fin axil. Chromis viridis is abundant, particularly around branching corals on lagoon and pinnacle reefs, but also in some areas on the seaward reef. They swarm around the coral, diving between the branches at the approach of potential danger. Breeding males develop a black anterior edge to the pectoral fin.
