Ptereleotris evides (Jordan & Hubbs, 1925)
Blackfin dartfish, 14cm

This species is common on seaward and lagoon reefs, where it usually hovers a meter or two above the bottom, feeding on plankton. It may swim away or dive into a hole in the reef when threatened.
