Brachaluteres taylori Woods, 1966
Taylor's inflator filefish

Although we originally thought these were juveniles of some other filefish species, it appears that they are in fact a small species of its own. The one photographed was probably no more than about 20mm long. We have seen our specimens around Halimeda plants in lagoon algae patches.
