Amblyeleotris guttata (Fowler, 1938)
Yellowspotted shrimpgoby, 11cm

This species is common at Kwajalein in certain areas, mostly in sand channels on the seaward reef but also on some lagoon pinnacles. These are easily recognized by their mostly unbanded (or very faintly banded) body covered with rather large yellow orange spots, with more reddish spots on the mostly transparent dorsal fins and tail. The black pelvic fins are also unique among Kwaj species of Amblyeleotris. We most often see these with an unidentified shrimp that has in some cases been called Alpheus ochrostriatus (see discussion under Amblyeleotris fasicata).
