Asterropteryx cf ensifera (Bleeker, 1874)
Blue-speckled rubble goby, 3cm

These have been observed by Christina Sylvester to be common just off the beach along the lagoon side of Kwajalein scooting around in broken coral and sand. It resembles published figures of Asterropteryx ensifera but lacks the black edging to the anal fin. It is also similar to the one we are calling Asterropteryx sp. 1 and could be a variation of it. For now the ID must remain tentative.
