This species is common on shallow sandy reefs at Kwajalein. It can be found with at least a couple of different shrimp gobies, including the very similar Ctenogobiops pomastictus. It is possible we have both species.
The greenish shrimp goby in the photo below is Alpheus djiboutensis.
Another shrimp partner is this Alpheus djeddensis.
The body on the fish below matches the other Ctenogobiops feroculus, but the black eyes seem unusual.
