Koumansetta rainfordi Whitley, 1940
Red-striped goby, 8.5cm

These little gobies are common on seaward and lagoon reefs, where they hover over sand and rubble near the floors of small ledges and overhangs. They stay pretty much in the same area, but move straight forward a little bit, then straight back, and repeat these motions frequently. Maximum size is reported to be about 8.5cm, although most of the ones from Kwajalein are smaller.
