Crambione mastigophora is the most commonly seen of the large jellyfish at Kwaj. Usually it forms large smacks of many thousands of pulsing jellies that often seem to be going in all directions, yet the swarm largely remains intact. Obviously there have to be some senses that enable them to stay together this way. They seem most prevalent in the lagoon, and usually during the early fall months when the weather is calm. These jellies pack a fairly powerful sting if the tentacles strike a tender spot, like the inside of your wrist.
