Parapercis clathrata Ogilby, 1910
Latticed sandperch, 24cm

Parapercis clathrata is common on lagoon, pinnacle and seaward reefs at Kwajalein. Males are easily distinguished by the ocelli on the back of the head behind the eyes.

The ocelli at the back of the head are absent in females.

Close ups of males.

This one had oddly dark eyes, but still appears to be Parapercis clathrata.
