Corythoichthys intestinalis (Ramsay, 1881)
Scribbled pipefish, 16cm

This pipefish is typically seen only on shallow lagoon reefs and pinnacles. There is a good population of large specimens in Kwajalein harbor, where they are typically seen exposed on sand and Halimeda algae during the day. The photos below were taken on the top of K9 pinnacle at a depth of about 6m.
