Solenostomus sp. 2 may just be a variation of Solenostomus halimeda as the body shape and texture seem to match pretty well. Although S. halimeda is usually green to match Halimeda algae, there are brown forms. The single specimen below was observed at night in a seaward reef surge channel on 17 March 2001.
