Largescale dottyback, 2.3cm

This one is usually seen in dark ledges and caves on lagoon and seaward reefs. We usually get only brief glimpses of them as they dart in and out of holes, and nearly always retreat from focusing or video lights. These photos are by Stan Jazwinski and Jay Lord. The identification is somewhat tentative.
