Siganus punctatus (Schneider & Forster, 1801)
Gold-spotted rabbitfish, 40cm

Siganus punctatus is moderately common on lagoon reefs and pinnacles, but it can occasionally be seen on the seaward reef. Usually in pairs, sometimes it forms small schools of up to about a dozen or so individuals. Like the other rabbits, it grazes on algae-covered rocks.
