Siganus vulpinus (Schlegel & Müller, 1845)
Foxface rabbitfish, 25cm

Siganus vulpinus is moderately common on lagoon, pinnacle and seaward reefs, where it travels in pairs grazing on algae-covered rocks. Small juveniles are rarely seen, but when they are you will likely see multiple specimens. I remember a dozen or so hanging around the starboard gunwale of the Shell Island shipwreck one time.

Grazing on algae growing on rock that also supports bushes of a tough, brown gorgonian.
