Dendrodoris fumata (Rüppell & Leuckart, 1831)

This black Dendrodoris fumata was under a rock next to an orange Berthellina ilisima. We saw the Dendrodoris at Mulege and Punta Chivato on the Baja side and at Painted Rocks and Lalo Cove near San Carlos on the Mexican mainland side. Dendrodoris fumata is widespread in the Indo-West Pacific and has many color forms. Some of these can be seen in the web sites referenced below.
