We saw several specimens of this small, usually reddish Rostanga in small caves and ledges at night on the northern and western shores of Oahu.
The next three photos I originally had separated under another species number, but a colleague convinced me that they were almost certainly the same. These were all found on shallow, nearly intertidal reefs such as those at Kewalo and Hauula, Oahu.
The one below had just deposited an egg mass.
