Most of these photos of Hawaiian slugs were taken between 1977 and 1981, then again from 1984 through 1985. Most diving was done around the island of Oahu, although I made several trips to Puako on the Big Island and relocated there full time for research from late 1980 through mid 1981. Study site descriptions on both islands are linked throughout the pages, but are mostly based on conditions when the studies were conducted. Driving around Oahu recently, I saw that some of those sites had physically changed.
