Janolus toyamensis Baba & Abe, 1970
15mm

I recorded several specimens of this species at Makua, Oahu, and Puako, Hawaii. All were found at night in ledges and small caves at depths of 5 to 8m. The first two photos below show the first specimen, found 29 July 1980 at Makua. The last two shots show one of the Puako specimens, found on 14 February 1981. Looking at the photos of Japanese specimens on the Sea Slug Forum, I think there is a possibility the Hawaiian ones may be different.
