Stylocheilus longicauda (Quoy & Gaimard, 1825)

This species is usually found on floating debris or buoy lines. The only two specimens I saw in Hawaii came from spiny lobster (Panulirus) larvae collectors floating in Kure Atoll lagoon and in Kaneohe Bay, Oahu. In the Marshalls Islands, we see them on mooring lines that mark shipwrecks.
