Berthellina sp. hn18
30mm

We used to consider these yellow forms of Berthellina delicata. As noted on Sea Slugs of Hawaii, the DNA apparently differs between the two species. I cannot tell if our specimen has the clusters of tiny white specks reported. However, we have seen numerous specimens of both orange Berthellina delicata and yellow Berthellina sp. 1 in the Marshall Islands, often in pairs or trios, and these groups always segregate by color: orange with orange and yellow with yellow. I suspect these animals know better than we do which species is which.
