Mirapecten sp.
1
39.8mm
This
appears to be a species of Mirapecten. It was found in a lagoon Halimeda
patch and is being kept separate from M.
rastellum due to its dark red mantle. The pure white shell also looks
a bit different from that of M. rastellum. However, since M. rastellum
is known to vary in its mantle and shell coloration, it could be just a variation.
