This was one of five very large clams fished out on one of our favorite lagoon pinnacles. This was a very large animal that one of us remembered from back in 1974, and even then it was a large shell. We discovered it and the others on this reef taken in November, 2010, so it was an old one. Several more of our deceased old friends can be seen here.
