Giant clam - Tridacna gigas

This one was an old friend. The shell was literally covered with large coral colonies, including branching, encrusting, and the large brain coral at upper left. It was close to three others, two of them quite large. Unfortunately, all four along with one other old friend on the other side of the reef, were all found by fishermen and the animals harvested. We discovered the empty shells some time after the event.
