Plagiotremus laudandus (Whitley, 1961)
Bicolor Fangblenny, 8.0cm

These fangblennies feed on bits of skin or flesh from passing fish, which it is able to approach by mimicing the similarly colored but harmless Meiacanthus atrodorsalis, from which it is sometimes difficult for us to distinguish. It is possible that some of those below are in fact the other species.

Asleep at night.

A group of these or Meiacanthus above a coral colony on the seaward reef.
