Drilliidae

What used to be considered the family Turridae is represented by numerous species in the Marshalls. However, in recent years the old Turridae has been split into several different families, including Clathurellidae, Drilliidae, Horaiclavidae, Mangeliidae, Mitromorphidae, Pseudomelatomidae, Raphitomidae and Turridae. These families are not well covered in many references, and some references show obviously different species under the same names. Many of our IDs, even to genus, are tentative and may be changed with further study. We welcome corrections at uwkwaj@yahoo.com. (Click on a thumbnail for pages of larger images.)
